The case for
- Standard costs 800 rupees per user a month billed monthly and 650 billed annually, and signers never need an account or a paid seat to sign.
- Aadhaar eSign, eMudhra eKYC signing and USB token DSC signing are all listed plan features, so the India-legal signature paths are built in.
- The free plan covers one user and five envelopes a month, which is enough for a founder signing the occasional contract.
The catch
- Envelopes sent through the API or third-party apps always consume Zoho Sign credits, whichever plan you pay for.
- Credits are sold only in blocks of 500 at 6 rupees each, so the smallest possible credit top-up is 3,000 rupees.
- Complimentary credits go to Enterprise subscribers alone, at 50 per user a month and capped at 2,500 for the whole organisation.
- Standard caps you at 25 envelopes per user each month, and SMS delivery, OTP authentication, stamp duty payment and timestamping each burn credits on top.
