Audit your spendIcyZip is run by Richard Andresik, a registered sole trader in Steyr, Austria, who also runs the web agency blitzweb.net. It pairs two browser tabs by QR code or a short link and gives them a shared live text field, so a link, code or note typed on one device appears on the other straight away. Either side can also send one file at a time, which the vendor caps at 25 MiB, and the receiver downloads it from the browser. The vendor says text and file bytes are encrypted in the browser with WebCrypto (P-256 ECDH, HKDF and AES-GCM) before they reach its relay server, and that comparing the optional check code shown on both devices is what detects a relay that tampers with the key exchange. It publishes that browser encryption code with runnable tests under the Apache 2.0 licence, while the server code stays proprietary, and both devices still run the browser code that IcyZip's own server delivers. Both browsers must stay open and online for the whole handoff, there is no offline queue or stored download link, and the server can still see metadata such as timing, file name, file size and IP-derived country.
