POS (Point of Sale)
The system used to take payments and record sales at the point of purchase.
A POS, or Point of Sale system, is the software (and often hardware) used to ring up sales, take payments, print bills and track inventory at the moment a customer buys - at a shop counter, restaurant table or checkout.
Modern cloud POS systems also handle GST billing, inventory, and integration with online ordering and payments, which is why they are central to retail and restaurant software stacks in India.
