UPI (Unified Payments Interface)

UPI is India's instant payment system that lets people pay directly from their bank account using a mobile app, by scanning a QR code or entering a UPI ID. It has become the default way Indians pay online and in person.

For businesses, UPI is usually the cheapest payment method to accept - it carries zero MDR for merchants under government policy in many cases - so enabling UPI at checkout reduces both cost and friction.
