Claim this listing →Shortlist GearDex if you are a photographer, videographer or small rental or studio team in India that still tracks kit in a spreadsheet and needs insurance-ready records and loan tracking. The Pro tier is cheap for what it does, but loans, maintenance, booking and invoicing all sit in Studio, so check which tier your workflow actually needs.
Everything is billed in US dollars by card through Stripe with no GST invoice stated, and it is a founder-run product with email-only support and US-centric details like Avery US Letter labels and USD market prices. As a gear register it is more specialised than a general asset tracker like Sortly, while its business side is a lighter alternative to HoneyBook for client booking, but Indian studios needing GST invoices should keep invoicing in their accounting tool.

In short
GearDex is listed under Industry Solutions, reviewed for Indian buyers. All-in it runs about ₹318/mo for a GST-registered business ($3.25/mo sticker plus about 3.5% card forex). FindThatSoftware rates it best for working photographers who want every body and lens logged with serial, receipt and current value for an insurance claim or renewal; a poor fit for Indian businesses that need GST-compliant invoices to clients, since invoices just link to an outside payment page and GST is never mentioned.
Registered business, per month
₹318
GearDex advertises $3.25/mo. A GST-registered business in India pays about ₹318 a month (₹3,818/yr) once the roughly 3.5% card forex markup is added, with GST reclaimed as input credit. If you cannot reclaim GST, it is about ₹375 a month.
Indicative, not a bill. The exchange rate is a single mid-market reference, not a live feed, and GST-registered businesses may reclaim input credit. Confirm current pricing on the vendor site.

Audit your spendGearDex is built by Dylan Andersen, a photographer and developer in Irvine, California, and sold under the GearDex name with no company entity stated. It keeps a library of camera bodies, lenses, lights and drones with serial numbers, receipts, warranties and current market value, and produces an insurance inventory as CSV or PDF. Paid tiers add rigs with QR labels, insurance PDF exports, market price lookups, shoot-plan PDFs with packing manifests and an AI assistant called Iris (in beta) that answers questions from your own records, while basic shoot plans and call sheets are on the free plan too. The Studio tier adds equipment loans, maintenance, a no-double-booking availability board, client booking, quotes, e-signed contracts and invoices that point to your own payment link, plus a REST API, webhooks and an MCP adapter. It runs in the browser, as a native Mac app, and as an installable web app on phones, and the vendor says over 900 photographers, studios and rental houses use it.
