When re-uploading by hand is enough, when a cross-posting tool is worth it, what the platforms say about reposting, and what each tool really costs an Indian card.
You made one good Reel. Now you want it on YouTube Shorts and Facebook too, and maybe LinkedIn. You can re-upload it by hand on each app, or you can pay a tool to do it. We wanted to know when the tool is actually worth the money for an Indian creator or small brand, so we went through what the platforms say about reposting, and what each tool charges an Indian card once forex and GST are added.
The short version: if you post a few videos a week to two or three apps, a free scheduler or doing it by hand is enough. Paying starts to make sense when you post daily, run several accounts, or want old videos pushed out without touching them.
TikTok has been blocked in India since 29 June 2020, when the government blocked 59 apps under Section 69A of the IT Act (PIB press release). That matters more than it sounds, because several cross-posting tools are built around TikTok as the place you post first and everything else as the copy. For an Indian creator the starting point is usually Instagram, sometimes Facebook or YouTube, so check that a tool supports your actual starting app before you pay.
The worry we hear most is that Instagram or YouTube will punish a video that also lives on another app. The official pages are clearer than the rumours:
Two technical limits also shape what you can share:
Doing it by hand costs nothing and gives you the most control: a caption written for each app, a proper YouTube title, the right thumbnail. Two free shortcuts take out most of the repetition:
For two or three apps and a few videos a week, this is the honest answer: you don't need a tool yet.
A scheduler lets you upload the finished video once, pick the apps, adjust captions, and set a time. You still decide what goes where. These are the options we would look at, with the cheapest price that covers Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. Rupee figures are monthly and include card forex and 18% GST for a buyer who can't claim the GST back.
| Tool | Billed in | Free plan | Cheapest paid cover for 3 apps | About per month in India |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buffer | US dollars | Yes, 3 channels, 10 queued posts each | Essentials, priced per channel | ₹1,751 billed yearly, ₹2,102 monthly |
| Zoho Social | Rupees | Yes, 1 brand, up to 6 channels | Standard | ₹708 billed yearly, ₹1,062 monthly |
| Later | US dollars | No | Starter | ₹2,189 billed yearly, ₹2,919 monthly |
| SocialPilot | Rupees | No | Standard | ₹2,006 billed yearly |
A few things the price table doesn't show:
The third approach is different. You keep posting on one app as you do now, and the tool watches that account and republishes each new video to the others. It can also push your old videos out. This is what Repostit and Repurpose.io do.
Repostit bills in US dollars (Repostit pricing):
The trial is 14 days with no card, 10 destination posts, up to three workflows and one account per app. Its sources are TikTok (its most common one, but not an option in India), Instagram, Facebook, X and Pinterest. It publishes to YouTube, but YouTube as a source is marked as coming soon, so Indian creators should start from Instagram. Repurpose.io works the same way but starts at 35 dollars a month, about ₹4,086, which is hard to justify for one creator.
Here is how a test run looks on Repostit, from Instagram Reels to YouTube Shorts, based on its quick-start guide (Repostit):
A fair way to decide: time how long the same finished clip takes to post by hand to each app, then time it through the workflow. What you are buying is time and consistency, not reach. None of these tools can make the algorithm like a video more.

Prices and platform rules were checked on the vendors' and platforms' own pages in October 2026. FindThatSoftware has a partner relationship with Repostit; see our affiliate disclosure. It does not change what we say about any tool.
